Master cylinder-lever type
This is the control unit that creates hydraulic pressure.
What it is
-
A hand-operated master cylinder
-
Usually connected to a brake lever (common on:
-
Light aircraft
-
Ultralights
-
Gyroplanes
-
Experimental aircraft)
-
What it does
-
When the pilot pulls the lever, a piston inside the master cylinder:
-
Pressurizes brake fluid
-
Sends that pressure into the hydraulic line
-
-
Releasing the lever releases pressure → brakes disengage
